Why some records are suppressed from search

The difference between deletion, suppression, and an unpublished pending review state.

Suppressed is not the same as deleted

Suppressed records do not appear in public search, but we retain internal history so takedowns, corrections, and legal requests remain traceable.

Why suppression happens

Common reasons include recent deaths, unresolved identity disputes, wrong-person uploads, and verified safety concerns.

How to appeal

If you believe a suppression decision is wrong, reply with evidence and the review team will reopen the case.
